We need you!
It costs approximately $100,000 to put a K9 Officer on the street. This includes acquisition, initial training and specialized equipment including vehicle, bullet-resistant vest, body worn camera, and kennel.
The expense doesn’t stop there—annual costs include bi-weekly training throughout the career of each dog, food, annual and emergency veterinary care, occasional offsite kenneling, specialty equipment upkeep/replacement and K9 Officer retirement benefits, which provide for veterinary care throughout the retirement lifetime of our K9s.
The Rüdiger Foundation is committed to funding local K9 Officers. With minimal overhead and no paid staff, we assure every donated dollar funds the program and helps support our mission of acquiring and sustaining K9 coverage 24/7 365 days per year throughout Nevada County.
